Members of the Egypt-U.S. Business Council met with the Honorable Jonathan Cohen Ambassador of the United States to Egypt, where they discussed the role of the Council in advocating for the advancement of Egypt-U.S. commercial relations, the current business sentiment and ways in which the Council can support the efforts of the Embassy.

Members outlined some of the issues impacting different sectors, and possible interventions and solutions. Ambassador Cohen emphasized the importance of the U.S.-Egypt business partnership, and expressed his commitment to lend his support as needed and actively advocate for policies that serve the interests of the bilateral partnership. Ambassador Cohen affirmed that ensuring the access of quality American goods and services to the Egyptian market would remain a top priority of the embassy throughout the duration of his post.

Ambassador Cohen also shared his perspective on the upcoming elections, and ways in which Egypt can build stronger relations with policy-makers on the ground in Washington.
