Tawfik serves as Chairman of Cairo Poultry Group, Chairman of the Egyptian Co. for Starch & Glucose, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Deputy Chairman of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies and Chairman of the Egyptian Franchise Development Association (EFDA).

Tawfik is also a board member of the General Authority for Investment & Free Zones (GAFI), the Export Development Authority, the Egyptian Countryside Development Company, the Chamber of Food Industries, Egyptian Regulatory Reform & Development Activity (ERADA), Egyptian National Competitiveness Council (ENCC), Export Support Program and the Agricultural Bank of Egypt.

Additionally, he is a member of the Egypt-U.S. Business Council, the Egyptian-Austrian Business Council, German Chamber Advisory Board, the Egyptian Kuwaiti Business Council, and the American University in Cairo’s Business School Advisory Board.

Tawfik holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Cairo University, a Master of Engineering from California State Polytechnic University (Pomona) and an MBA from San Francisco State University.
