Girgis Abd El Shahid is a former public prosecutor. Since entering private practice, Abd El Shahid has provided legal services to national and multinational companies in the Middle East. He specializes in commercial and investor/state arbitration, banking and finance, securities offerings, joint venture arrangements, acquisitions, energy and natural resources, corporate and commercial agreements, telecommunications and intellectual property.

Abd El Shahid holds an LL.M. in international legal studies from Georgetown University Law Center, an LL.B. from Cairo University, English Section, and a BA in economics, with a minor in business administration, from the American University in Cairo. Abd El Shahid is a member of the Egypt-U.S. Business Council.
